Real Madrid have said that they would unveil next seasons’ kit during their title celebration ceremony at the Santiago Bernabéu on 18 May.
The new home kit includes a collared shirt with black trim, while the visitor’s shirt is a cobalt blue with white trim. Both include adidas’ revolutionary ClimaCool® with flow mapping technology which enhances player performance by keeping the body at optimal temperature.
The kit has been anatomically designed in order to optimize the fit and comfort of each player and includes 3-D engineered patterns allowing ultimate player performance through increased ventilation and moisture management.
I must say that the new kit looks sexy and it is nearly the same as the one we had in 2005. I think I’m gonna get myself one but I don’t think they are available yet.

Ramon Calderon has stated that they are going to extend Robinho’s stay at the Bernabeu until 2014. The Brazilian wonderkid moved to Real Madrid from Santos in 2005 and his first two seasons were quite disappointing. However, when Capello was brought in and the team improved, Robinho became more efficient and found a regular place in the squad.
He lead Brazil to Copa America and became the best goal-scorer and played an important role in Real’s win of this seasons’ league. All of this have made other teams going after him, but it seems thought that Real’s management really value his worth.
Honestly, I’m not surprised to hear such news because I think that Robinho is one of the world’s best players and I’m pretty sure that he will soon be awarded the FIFA player of the year. His talent in undeniable and he is down-to-earth with his teammates. It is just good that Real sold Ronaldo because he had a very bad influence on Robinho.

It is unbelievable, but Levante players have gone on strike and have threatened that they won’t play at the Bernabeu next week If they don’t get paid. Levante, who have serious financial problems, are yet to pay their players despite many promises and owe £18 million to their players.
Luis Manuel Rubiales, Levante’s captain, has said that he had informed Real Madrid about the situation and that they don’t intend to harm Real Madrid in any way. He also said that they had to do that because they have families and they haven’t been properly paid for two years.
I really don’t know what to say, but I fully understand what Levante players are going through. It would be a pity If we won’t see Real at the Bernabeu next week. I think that the Spanish football federation should do something about this issue before it gets even more complicated.
Do you think that Levante players have the right to do this?

I couldn’t watch the match and therefore I couldn’t write an extensive and thoughtful review, so apologizes for everyone here. However, the nice thing about giving other people a voice to share their thoughts is that they really appreciate it and actually help. Thankfully, my fellow Madridistas at Realmadrid Forum are discussing the game. I recommend you go there:

I’m gonna be back and at full speed from now on

La Liga - 11/05/2008 - 21:00 CET | La Romareda
Update 5:12 PM: Squad list has been announced.
Goalkeepers
Dudek, Codina
Defenders
Cannavaro, Sergio Ramos, Marcelo, Metzelder, Salgado, Torres
Midfielders
Diarra, Guti, Drenthe, Baptista, Balboa, Sneijder
Forwards
Robinho, Van Nistelrooy, Saviola, Higuaín
With nothing to play for - except for statistics and fame, Real Madrid take on Real Zaragoza tomorrow night at La Romareda stadium. Bernd Schuster is most likely to rest some of his key players including Casillas and captain Rau’l. Los Blancos have one more match this season and If they win this one and that one, they will be the best La Liga Champions ever.
Gabriel Heinze won’t play due to suspension, while Fabio Cannavaro will be back in the starting eleven. We could also see the return of Metzelder after months of injury. The official squad list hasn’t yet been released, but I think that everyone is fit for the clash. However, there might be some players left-out for coaching decisions. With that in mind, lets see who is probably gonna start (this is my own lineup, please post yours in the comment section):

Seriously - We have won the league and we have humiliated Barcelona — what else are we looking for? I know that you guys want the team to win every single match and not only that but also in style. But do you really think that we have to win them all? I don’t think we have to.
I believe that Schuster should give his bench warmers some playing time. Those such as Soldado, Dudek, Balboa, Baptista …etc They all deserve to play the remaining matches of the season. I think the first one who is gonna be rested is Casillas as to guarantee him the Zamora Trophy. I also think that Rau’l, Guti, Ramos, Pepe and probably Sneijder will be rested because they have played so much recently.
Maybe If we have to win them all, that is just only for statistics. If I’m not mistaken, Real will be the best La Liga champions ever If they win all of the remaining matches, but the most important thing for me is to rest our key players and give the other forgotten dudes some playing time.
Whats your take on this? Should we win them all?

There hasn’t been much interesting news today, but here are two pieces that I’m reporting here. The first one is that Real will play a friendly match against Saudi Arabian side Al-Nasr on the 20th of may in Riad. Al-Nasr will pay tribute to their most popular player Majed Abdullah (who is like their Rau’l, you know). The two teams faced each other before and it was during World Club Championship of 2000.
The second one is from AS’s interview with Sergio Ramos in which he has dismissed the rumors that linked him to English giants Chelsea.
“No one has contacted me or commented any offers from English teams. It is very flattering for big clubs to be interested in me, but I only think about retiring at Real Madrid.”
This statement clearly shows that Ramos, although being flattered, is only thinking about Real Madrid and actually intends to retire at the Bernabeu. However, the question is: will Real offer him a life-time contract as the ones they offered to Casillas, Rau’l and Guti? Or is it too early for that?

Real Madrid have proved once again not only they deserved to win the league, but they are also the best team in Spain. Los Blancos defeated rivals Barcelona 4-1 with a superb performance that we haven’t seen in a long time.
Schuster used a quite defensive lineup that consisted of Casillas, Ramos, Pepe, Heinze, Marcelo, Gago, Diarra, Guti, Sneijder, Robben and captain Rau’l. I think playing both Diarra and Gago was a very good decision as they perfectly dominated the midfield and didn’t let Barca’s players build-up any games.
I’ve never liked Robben this season, but his performance last night was impressive. He actually could’ve scored at least more goals hadn’t been bad luck. Also, Diarra was strong and fast; he really helped the team much. I don’t think that Real will sell him in the summer.
One again Higuain proved that he is a player that can play for a club like Real Madrid. Just after he came on, he scored a fantastic goal and played very well in the remaining time; damn good!
